Some Perspective

MY BACKGROUND

Snowboarding has been the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Steamboat Springs, I was constantly in the mountains, and over time that passion turned into a serious pursuit of competing at the highest level. What started as a love for riding has developed into a commitment to racing, progression, and pushing myself against the best athletes in the world.

Over the past few years, my career has accelerated quickly. I earned my first World Cup start after the 2023–2024 season, which marked a major turning point and gave me the opportunity to compete on the international stage. From there, my focus shifted fully toward chasing a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics. That decision meant committing everything to the sport—training, traveling, and competing at a level that demands consistency, resilience, and discipline.

My training is built around six days a week of strength work, conditioning, and on-snow development, along with recovery through physical therapy and ice baths. Snowboarding at this level isn’t just about talent—it’s about showing up every day, managing setbacks, and continuing to improve no matter the circumstances. This past season especially tested that, as I faced the challenge of narrowly missing Olympic qualification, but it also pushed me to achieve some of my strongest results and continue progressing forward.

Beyond competition, I care deeply about the impact I can have on others in the sport. I’ve spent time volunteering as a skateboard coach and enjoy working with younger athletes, hoping to inspire them and help grow the next generation of snowboarders. Being part of this community is something I value just as much as competing.

Outside of snowboarding, I stay active through mountain biking, river surfing, and skateboarding, which has always been a creative outlet for me. I also enjoy playing guitar and spending time outdoors. These activities help keep balance in a lifestyle that is otherwise very intense and performance-driven.

I completed high school early while balancing a demanding international competition schedule, maintaining strong academic performance and demonstrating my ability to manage both high-level athletics and rigorous coursework. I plan to major in Kinesiology, where I can apply my understanding of training, performance, and recovery to both my own career and future work in sports performance.
