About Me

My name is Walker Overstake. I’m a 19-year-old professional alpine snowboard racer from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, competing for the United States.

This past season, I had some of the strongest results of my career:

  • 🥈 3 Silver Medals at Junior World Championships

  • 🥉 Team Event Bronze at the World Cup level

  • 🏁 4th Place in a World Cup

  • 📊 7 Top-30 World Cup finishes

  • 🌍 Currently ranked 35th in the World

My goal is simple: win a medal at the Olympic Games.

The Reality Behind Competing for Team USA

Even though I compete for the United States and represent my country at the World Cup level, U.S. Ski & Snowboard does not fund the alpine snowboard World Cup team.

That means athletes like me are responsible for paying for everything:

  • Travel

  • Coaching

  • Training camps

  • Equipment

  • Lodging

  • Race fees

A full season costs around $80,000+, and even with strong results, I still can’t afford to compete without outside help.

How I Make It Work

To chase this dream, I rely on:

  • Working jobs

  • Support from my family

  • Help from my community

  • Scholarships and small donations

I’ve built and run my own business, Old Town Window Washing, where I work long days in the offseason to fund my winters. Most of what I earn goes directly into paying for my World Cup season.

This is the reality of chasing the Olympics in my sport—you work for it in every way possible.

Why I’m Reaching Out

I’m looking for:

  • Sponsors

  • Donors

  • Supporters who believe in my journey

I truly believe I have a real shot at an Olympic medal, but I need the support to stay on the World Cup circuit and keep progressing.

How You Can Support Me

Any support—big or small—goes directly toward keeping me competing at the highest level.

Final Note

It’s unfortunate that athletes in my position aren’t supported financially by the national governing body, even while competing at a world-class level. But I’m committed to finding a way.

I’ve worked for every opportunity I’ve had, and I’m not stopping now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting my journey.
